You will see 3 different Venmo deposits we received along with a donation from Federal way Tuesday night step which has now closed unfortunately , it was the oldest meeting in federal way as of March 2020, unfortunately it did not survive the pandemic so the treasurer closed the account and donated what was left to the district.. I met with our outgoing Treasurer Greg and now have all the keys, Check books and bank cards so it should be a very smooth transition. I will try to call in and join remotely if possible but at least you have this report and know the bills are all paid and we still have money in the bank. Thanks for allowing me to be of service We did get a nice Christmas card thank you note in the mail from Seattle Intergroup specifically the office committee Laura and Anita thanking us for our support and service which I thought was very nice. Motion to Accept Treasurer’s Report - Heather, 2nd - Dan Committee Reports: Alt DCM from December - Will attend the January Quarterly School Panels - Open position Webmaster - Treatment list, Meeting Guides are updated, Aaron - Switching over meeting guide to area’s meetings, that’s fully updated & operational. At first we had to manually put in Auburn & Federal way meetings to correct that and you can search and it will populate the meetings. There’s possibly a new way to generate new meeting guides to filter out the meetings for just D32. The creators of the app are working on a way to allow the districts to filter by district to print. Treatment - Linda - Had a quarterly this weekend, not a whole lot new. Had a guest speaker who was sharing some of the work going on for Seniors in residences that is something in our future. Have a new Area treatment chair who is finding his way around. Still doing panels at Intercept once a month and did attend her first Seattle Intergroup meeting in December and that was interesting. This month was turned to the third Tuesday, regularly it’s 2nd Tuesday from 12:10 and done by about 1:15 and the 4th Friday is 11:10 and done around 1:30, 1:40. She has gone to the Brown Bag meeting and they’re in the process to see if they would be willing to adopt one of the meetings because it’s hard to find people to come mid day. By next meeting, she’ll have a yay or nay from them. Corrections - Quarterly was on his family gathering day so he missed it. Tried to get ahold of the Seattle corrections committee last weekend but they didn’t get back to him so no report Grapevine - The new AA Service Manual is now in print, you can get a copy at onlineliteratureaa.org or pick one up at the Alano Club Bookstore. The Grapevine Prayer and Meditation Book is currently sold out at the Grapevine Store but will be available soon. Our Area Grapevine/Literature Chair, Dave V has a ten minute literature presentation for online groups, his contact is gvlit@area72aa.org. Our next quarterly will be held on Saturday February 19th as a hybrid meeting at Seattle Intergroup. CPC - Jaqui - First month, getting her feet wet to make sure she understands what she needs to do. Made the transition with Tony late Jan, to understand the emails for Multicare Auburn and St. Francis 12 step calls. Working with Heather and thanked Aaron to help understand the 12 step list. Last time we had some sign ups on the list online was in 2020. There’s a quarterly in Feb on the 12th. Did attend the Intergroup PI/CPC meeting on Saturday and they’ve got the Elizabeth Gregory House, up north in the U District, it’s a women’s transitional house that has panels and meetings that meets weekly on Fridays at noon, could use some support. PI - Not much to report. Also going to the quarterly next month which now PI and CPC quarterlies have been split. Same day, different times. Will be delivering these new schedules to Auburn since she works there and also St. Francis and Ray of Hope Shelter in Auburn. Archivist - Dylan - Absent BTG - Allyson - Absent - Still working on obstacles on the website. She’s in Arizona Accessibility - Heather - Sam has moved to a different state. Officially open now - need to update the website Zone Rep - Absent 3rd Legacy - Caroline - Hosted the 10th tradition for Intergroup and finished concept study. Now that we are in the new year, we are going to kick off a new study, starting tomorrow. Based on feedback from the group, it will be a Traditions study, using AA Comes of Age, as the basic text. The focus will be on applying the Traditions in our meetings. Members can bring their group issues and in our tradition study, we will apply the traditions to the things coming up in our groups. Want to get the Accessibilities, school panels and Secretary Is available. If you're at a meeting, check and make sure it’s updated on the website. If not, email webmaster@seattelaa.org. DCM - Nic - Email report to secretary@district32aa.org. I attended the January business quarterly. All quarterly documents are available at area72aa.org our area donation to world service was 40k. The new budget was approved at 168k. See the financial report for details. We will have pre conference meetings coming soon. No old business Elections - Anyone interested in a position? Ruth R asked if she could be a secretary and a GSR. Yes, most are both. Linda - There’s a class on Area 72 on taking meeting minutes on zoom. Ruth - Will be Secretary. Qualifiers - Has 13 months of sobriety. Has been a GSR for about a year (10 months) has a home group in Auburn Hour of Power. Has been helping Linda with the treatment panel. Angela and Aaron know her. Angela asked why she wanted to be secretary. She's a note taker, always gets compliments on her notes. All in favor. Zone Rep - Wants to step down in person, next month, so that’s another open position. New Business - Linda - The business she wants to discuss has to do with the Bridging the Gap volunteer form. 8-10 months ago, it was explained to her that within our district, it wasn’t only for treatment. If someone filled it out, that they wanted it to be useful for school panels, hospitals, treatment panels, corrections and any other service they may want trusted service positions. But when they go to implement that, it seems like that’s not the way it’s implemented. The volunteers that have signed up for hospital calls, if they’re interested in any other position or service, we don’t get notice of that. They’re using a separate form. In the minutes last month, there was a difference in scripts. Would like to organize this so everyone is on the same page so we have Jean Paul, Jaqui, BTG, Treatment. Who will be in charge of the database and who can access that? Doesn’t expect to have this happen quickly but wants wrinkles ironed out. They’re getting BTG requests but they have no access. Angela - BTG form being voted and the treatment form but was it posed as a question to be a universe form? Aaron - it was proposed but never voted on. The current state of it is, if someone signs up for a 12 step call list, they can select other committees. There’s a database for the 12 step call list strictly. If they’re interested in anything else, the email the person gets, they’ll see what other committees they’re interested in. There is no universal database. Carrie - 12 step call list is separate from BTG form. Both have the same options. Nic - it’s important to direct volunteers to where they signed up. It is essential to keep the volunteers to where they signed up All of these positions would cooperate would work together but be separate. Bridge is for people getting out of jails Bridging the Gap is for people in treatment. Dan suggested a paper form. Aaron -there’s a physical 12 step sign up that can be distributed at meetings. We could do a paper form. Carrie - there is a printable version Samantha - there was a “Score” application for women to go into the jails to help other women. Heather, that’s a specific jail out in Seatac. Linda - can we put an ad hoc committee together. She knows there’s that 12 step form to take to meetings. Knows that there’s the hospital 12 step sheet, has seen one for the corrections on our site and she’s put a lot of work moving the BTG for treatment to more of a global form, but if we’re not going to coordinate, move it back. Just feels like we need to be more inclusive. When they get a request from a bridge from a treatment center, they have no access to volunteers. Aaron - if someone signs up, then the email is sent ot the district email. Nic suggested that Linda create a list based on what Allyson sends, so she can pass the list over to the next chair. Same with in person, hand written forms. Get with Allyson and get her onboard with what she’s doing and we can revisit the discussion. Nic will put this on next month’s agenda. Keep form as is to talk about revisioning the form. GSR Sharing - Where, when and anything new Ruth - Hour of Power - Women’s meeting on Saturday mornings at Alano club at 8:30am Biggest conversation, though she’s hearing it in many meetings. There’s a lot of talk about how low the in person meeting attendance is compared to pre-covid. Talking about going hybrid. That comes with their own set of complications. Like a chair to do the hybrid stuff, and gives people a chance to not come to the in person meetings. What they’re trying to encourage is reaching out to people who have attended the meeting in the past. Post to FB groups that they’re back. Did they forget? Did they not know that they’re live again? Want to make it bigger. They have or will have District’s split here pretty soon. Susan - Wed Night Women in Recovery - Wed at Church of Christ on Military from 7:30 - 9. Had a potluck last week. She had to leave early but heard they had a lot of really good speakers. Samantha - Fed Way Women’s Meeting - Monday from 7-8:30 off of 320th, across from Decatur Highschool. It’s in person but they do a hybrid and wants to talk to the webmaster because it doesn’t show that. They’ve had a lot of new women and newcomers. It shows it’s online and in person. Wasn’t sure if it’s in person or online. Did notice that it says the CPC position is open and Archives is open Dessie - Thurs Night Women in Recovery - Talking about doing hybrid. But it’s still not set in stone. Waiting for more people to be at the group to finalize a decision. Working on doing a split for District also. Attendance is solid. Linda - Healthy Women - They’re currently online. Tried for 2 months to go hybrid but didn’t have an appropriate laptop to make it work. Had the other equipment, like projector, was a real connecting piece of equipment but without the laptop, it just wasn’t working for them. Have to have a really good wifi wherever you’re having a meeting and sometimes it would go down at the church. Still have a service agreement with the church. They really want them to be there. They do an outreach with the homeless population in Federal Way. They see AA meetings there as being a part of the picture so they’ll attempt at some point to go back to hybrid. A couple of reasons, there’s a core group that comes to the group online on Sunday at 7 but haven’t had a chance to enjoy the company in person. In terms of hybrid, on a regular basis, they have at least 2 people on zoom that haven’t been there and that’s one big push as to why they want to stay on zoom because they want to still be open for people who need a meeting on Sunday at 7. Troy - As Bill Sees It - on 320th at Christ Lutheran Church - Wanted to give a testament to last Friday, they’ve been blessed with good internet. They’re doing hybrid and have had no problems with equipment. He chairs the meeting, wasn’t able to attend last time, he was doing it online and they had a walk in on Friday night. That’s the beauty of being a hybrid. They use Go To meeting, which is a more simple version than zoom. Had about 10-15 people but since Covid they get maybe 5. Zoom and Go to Meeting works out. Alex - with Brown Bag Group just down the street from Brookelake - in person Mon - Fri from Noon to 1. Still doing online Saturday and Sunday. Averaging 11 during the week and 5 on zoom. 2 newcomers per week. Thanked Linda and Angela for coming. Angela did an audit. Doing great with social distancing, masking, following protocols. Weekends could use more attendance, during the week as well but people are doing well. Feb 1st is the next business meeting. Doing a GSR crash course. Max - Auburn Stag Group - Tues at Alano club and on zoom at 7pm. Have 10-12 members at each meeting. Knows there’s new people coming in on zoom and have new comers come in person too. Voting in this next business meeting on the 25th to see if they’ll go back to their original church. Everyone got snowed out last month to vote so it’ll be on the 25th. Diane - Alex covered the Brown bag group. There was some talk after the meeting today, she co chairs on Mondays about the in person meetings and perhaps a hybrid model. One thing that she was wondering about with the hybrid, is there some instructional or place they could get help to see where that works? It was very difficult for her to hear certain things at the meeting tonight. Alex - has some gentlemen dedicated to the zoom meetings and will talk about the hybrid during the week. They can talk to the gentlemen about that. Close with the responsibility statement at 8:24pm
